| Makin’ Hay was installed on the Stanford University campus from 2006 to 2009. The Stanford campus was originally established on Leland Stanford’s working farm in 1891. Even today, students and faculty still fondly refer to their university as “The Farm.” Makin’ Hay honored Stanford’s historic founding and intrigued Stanford art historians, who likened the installation to The Gleaners, a 19th century painting by French artist Francois Millet. |
