The rolling Palouse country surrounding Pullman, Washington in addition to being beautiful, is one of the most productive grain growing regions in the world. Washington State University, located in Pullman, is a major academic center in the Pacific Northwest. Makin’ Hay transformed a hay field adjacent to the Veterinary School at WSU in the autumn of 2004. The figures, which were cast at nearby Walla Walla Foundry, were a centerpiece of the University’s celebration honoring thirty years of this important contemporary art foundry.
