Overview

Do Ho Suh constructs site-specific installations that question the boundaries of identity. His work explores the relation between individuality, collectivity, and anonymity. The artist’s exhibit at the The Contemporary Austin, explored these themes, combining existing work with newly commissioned aspects and including architectural structures, documentary films, and drawings and related models.

Do Ho Suh (b.1962, Seoul, Korea) received a BFA in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and a MFA in sculpture from Yale University. The artist’s work is included in museum collections worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and the Tate, London; The artist lives and works in New York, London, and Seoul.
