Overview

Makin’ Hay  was installed at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas from 2013 to 2015. Placed in a hay field at the entrance to the spacious museum grounds, the Makin’ Hay  figures provided a uniquely American contrast between the agricultural roots of Northwest Arkansas and the contemporary intervention of the Moshe Safdi designed museum building.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art celebrates the unfolding history of American Art in a setting that unites the power of art with the beauty of nature.  Unique for a museum, Crystal Bridges’ 120-acre grounds link natural springs, Ozark forest and open fields with over three miles of walking paths, which invite visitors to enjoy the natural environment as an integral part of their museum experience
