Sun Valley Center for the Arts

Overview

Alturas Foundation initially installed Makin’ Hay in the Wood River Valley south of Sun Valley, Idaho in 2003 in collaboration with the Sun Valley Center for the Arts. The pastoral Wood River valley surrounding the resort community of Sun Valley is in a continuing transition from an historic ranching and mining community to a recreation and tourism economy.   The Makin’ Hay  figures provided residents and visitors a visual comment on  the valley’s agricultural past and its changing present.
