Overview

Color! was organized by the Amon Carter Museum of American Art to examine the intriguing history of American photographers’ halting acceptance of color.  The exhibition of seventy-five key photographs, revealed the diverse vibrancy of early efforts to shape a creative language for the use of color, and explained how the art world’s acceptance of color photography transformed the medium into today’s dominant art form.
