Overview

The rolling Palouse countryside surrounding Pullman, Washington – in addition to being incredibly beautiful – is one of the most productive grain growing regions in the world, and is the home to Washington State University.  The Makin’ Hay figures which were cast at nearby Walla Walla Foundry, were installed in a hay field adjacent to the WSU Veterinary School in 2004.  Makin’ Hay was the centerpiece of the University’s celebration exhibition honoring the thirty year anniversary of this important contemporary art foundry.
